Three Things #1

Three verses to remember when humanity disappoints...

Sometimes the world looks like it’s going sideways.  In the past year, we have seen riots and un-peaceful protests for several reasons and it gets unsettling.  Here are three verses to keep in your hearts and minds when the behavior of your fellow man lets you down.

     1) 1 Ecclesiastes 7:29
"One thing I have learned: God made people good, but they have found all kinds of
                   ways to be bad."

This might not seem uplifting, but if you take in to account that it was written way back when, you start to realize there really is nothing new.  People do bad things. There are ups and downs all through history and our God is a constant. The job of the Christian is to be the light! Keep things in perspective and don’t get caught up in the world.

      2) 1 Peter 2:12
"People who do not believe are living all around you and might say that you are
doing wrong. Live such good lives that they will see the good things you do and
will give glory to God on the day when Christ comes again."

Be the GOOD! Take the high road. Be a good example. When people look around, make sure they see something bright and shiny instead of all the dark and dull surrounding them or being shoved in their faces from media. Remember who you are and who your Father is and live according to His teachings.

       3) Ephesians 4: 27
"Do not give the devil a way to defeat you."

The verse before this is about not sinning when you get angry.  Hate and anger are almost contagious. You see the bad on tv, you start to feel wronged, you get defensive and before you know it, you are fussing and angry and all sorts of ugly emotion and maybe say or do something you shouldn’t. Who wins?  Believe me, I am preaching to myself on this one. Don’t give the devil a foot hold. Be a solution not a part of the problem.

I wish you all grace and peace and hope you all will look for ways to keep Christ in your everyday.
